Auburn Laboratories, Inc. is the proud sponsor of the USEA Lady Rider of the Year award
Karen O’Connor and her amazing pony partner, Theodore, galloped into the history books this year at Rolex and the Pan American Games, and then trotted away with the highest honors at the year end award ceremony for the USEA, held in Boulder, CO last December.
Karen was named Lady Rider of the Year, while Theodore captured the honors for Horse of the Year and Pony of the Year. Auburn Laboratories, Inc. was very pleased and proud to be the sponsor of the USEA Lady Rider of the Year award again this year, and provided a $1,000.00 prize in product and money to Karen in recognition of her remarkable achievements in 2007.
Karen acknowledged her appreciation of APF, Auburn Laboratories’ #1 rated performance horse supplement, saying, “Thanks, Auburn Labs! A great product for a great pony!”
Auburn Laboratories, Inc. is proud of the outstanding performances of
APF-sponsored horses and their remarkable riders
APF horses dominated last Sunday’s $125,000 EMO Grand Prix to conclude the second week of competition at HITS Desert Circuit in Thermal, CA. Joie Gatlin put in a thrilling performance riding Camaron Hills Shan Roe to best a jump-off field of eight pairs and win the $125,000 EMO Grand Prix, with Canadian John Pearce piloting Archie Bunker to a second place finish only .635 seconds off the Gatlin’s winning time.
“I knew I had to go fast after the ride John put in, and he went beautifully. All I had to do was ask him, and he burned up the course. When I feed APF, I know I’ll have plenty of gas in the tank!” said a delighted Gatlin. She and Shan Roe finished with a blistering time of 40.947.
John Pearce conceded victory graciously. “Joie rode beautifully. At the end, we were just shaving hundredths of a second off the time. I dropped it by .006 and Joie took it down by another .635. She was smoking. I always know I’m up against it when I’m running against another APF horse!”
Joie and John finished with two horses each in the top ten, capturing prize money totaling $40,100 and $33,750 respectively.
APF – Advanced Protection Formula was listed as the first choice from a field of 20 equine performance supplements in the June 2006 Horse Journal article, “Products Claim to Charge Up Your Horse”, where it was noted, “…we think the standouts in our chart include APF.” Top riders in every discipline have come to rely on the unique benefits of APF for the performance horse, from improved energy utilization to increased immune response, especially during periods of physiological and psychological stress which can be experienced during training, shipping and competition.
Coming soon! Now for even more energy, muscle-building and immune-support, watch for the introduction of APF Pro! With this new formula, Auburn Laboratories, Inc. has taken the performance supporting properties of APF to the next level. APF Pro – Go Pro or Don’t Go!
The dynamic duo, Karen O’Connor and the diminutive Theodore O’Connor, galloped into the history books this year with double Gold at the Pan American Games!
Karen O’Connor and Theodore “Teddy” captured the Individual Gold Medal and helped the United States capture the Team Gold Medal with a spectacular showing in Rio de Janeiro.
Earlier this year, the eleven year old, 14.1 hand Thoroughbred/Arabian/Shetland showed up to make history as the first pony ever to run at the Rolex Kentucky CCI****. Not only did Teddy take 3rd as he galloped around a course bigger than he was, but he was awarded Best Conditioned! APF is part of the O’Connors’ formula for success! Karen and David O’Connor have been using APF in all their horses since 2002.
Auburn Laboratories, Inc. has provided $12,000.00 dollars in product to help the horses evacuated due to the devastation of the Southern California fires. Dr. Michael Van Noy, President of Auburn Laboratories, went to Del Mar in Southern California and met with Dr. Anne McCabe, who was organizing the relief efforts at Del Mar Racetrack for horses evacuated from the fires. Many were suffering from stress, smoke inhalation and some had been injured.
“In the immediate aftermath of the fires and the evacuations, dealing with the sudden stress and potential injurious effects of the smoke was a major concern. APF will be an enormous help in supporting these horses,” noted Dr. McCabe. “We are grateful to Auburn Laboratories and Dr. Van Noy for their generosity.”
Auburn Laboratories has signed on for another year as the sponsor of the Leading Lady Rider of the Year Award. This award is presented to the female rider with the most competitive points at the end of the season. "We're very happy that Auburn Laboratories is coming back for another year," says Jo Whitehouse, USEA Executive Director. "Their support of our programs, including the year-end awards and the AEC, means a lot to the association."
Currently Karen O’Connor is leading the field with a total of 499.0 points, followed closely by Kimberly Severson with a total of 419.0 points.
